Every week during the month of July, The Heard Museum will host a variety of themed activities for kids and families, called “Sizzlin’ Summer Saturdays,” and all for free. Children can create red, white, and blue charm necklaces and make their own American flags to mark the 4th of July. Other themed activities include making hairpipe necklaces, creating 3-D butterfly ornaments, fashioning tissue flowers, painting wind chimes and polar bear pins, and decorating your own fan with stickers. In addition to the five hands-on activities each week, kids can explore the museum’s exhibit galleries. The Café at Heard will offer special kids and family lunches on activity days, and the Heard Museum Shop is a treasure trove of unique books and souvenirs for children.
