Hotel of the Stars

Nestled among the lights, cameras and action of Universal City, “hotel of the stars” Sheraton Universal offers accommodations as close to Hollywood as one can get without joining the Screen Actors Guild. The Sheraton is a frequent filming locale for TV’s Desperate Housewives, among other shows and movies, and don’t be surprised to find Tom Hanks or Dolly Parton using it as a work-week home base. In the works: a total hotel makeover, with deep discounts available in the meantime. Our favorite: the buy-two-nights-get-one-free offer through the hotel’s Web site (see below). There’s also a complimentary shuttle to the Universal Studios theme park.
