Sacred Surf

By far the most famous beach on the island, Sandy Beach has a reputation that hails from its intense break near shore. This translates into primetime body surfing and boogie boarding for those who dare. The host to myriad surfing and boarding competitions, Sandy Beach has fulltime lifeguards. While this sand spot’s well-known tube ensures an adrenaline rush, the best time for novices are when the waves rise just to the two- to four-foot range. Those less courageous can take advantage of beachcombing and ogling the views.
