Room for Two

July 16th, 2009

Tired of tiny hotel bathrooms? Every one at Wynn Las Vegas is incredibly large (possibly Las Vegas’s largest) with double sinks, separate showers, flat screen TVs (in case you don’t want to miss out on your favorite soap while you soap). Traveling with a friend or significant other? You’ll definitely appreciate the extra space. Other perks at Wynn: deluxe bed and lots of mirrors, both of which ensure we are ready for a winning night on the town.

Pool and Posh

July 16th, 2009

Once checked in, we could hardly move beyond the lobby of the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas, in Henderson. There, amid a highly civilized conversation spot to take tea is a shiny new pool table. After a few games of sinking the eight ball, we found this gamer’s delight to be just the beginning, up to and including an enticing outdoor swimming pool and a serene manmade lake — complete with gondola rides and a dramatic waterfall. Reminiscent of Florence, this sprawling and luxurious Ritz-Carlton — located 20 minutes from the dizzying (yet still easily accessible) Las Vegas Strip — offers a sumptuous taste of Italy and even furnishes its own Ponte Vecchio. This bridge-like section of the hotel is home to the best rooms in the house and a private lounge for elite guests, where Champagne flows all day long. Salute!
