Lance Armstrong picked Austin as his two-wheeled training ground long before he won the Tour de France a record seven times. Known as bicycle friendly, the city’s maze of marvelous trails makes getting around by pedal as easy as pie. And everywhere you look there’s someone pumping along, decked out in full cycling regalia — many of whom appear to be dead ringers for Lance. For car-free biking excursions, glide over the City of Austin’s Veloway Park, a 3.1-mile, paved loop, open to anybody on a bike — or a pair of rollerblades.
